VolunteerMatters allows those with Contact Administrator or Credential Administrator to configure daily or weekly email notifications on contact or credential information as well as instant notifications on registrations.
The summary notification emails will be similar to their respective dashboards and link to those dashboards in the system.
The instant notification is available via email or Text/SMS (for both Contact and Credential Administrators with verified phone numbers).
All of the notifications are configured on the administrator's My Profile page.
To configure your settings for any of these notifications, log into VolunteerMatters with the proper administrative access and click on "My Profile" in the site menu. The scroll down and on the bottom right there will be a panel labeled "Admin Notifications".
Here you can set the following via drop downs:
- Credential Summary Email
- Contact Summary Email
- Volunteer Registration (sent when any volunteer registers in your VolunteerMatters system)
For the summary notifications, you can set to either "Never", "Daily", or "Weekly".
For the instant notifications, you can set to either "None", "Email", or "Text/SMS".
The settings will automatically be saved once you make a selection. There is no need to click a "Save" or "Update" button. To change your settings you just need to make a new selection.
Note: If the contact signs up for both the Contact and Credential notifications they will appear in a single email.

INSTANT NOTIFICATIONS
With a VolunteerMatters Enterprise subscription, the "Contact Segmentation" feature enables you to tailor administrative access for various roles to specific groups of contacts. This is particularly useful for restricting editing rights for the Contact Administrator role. For instance, if your database includes Board Member contacts, you can create a "Board Member Record" contact segmentation. When assigned to Contact Administrators, this segmentation will limit their access to only those Board Member records. Conversely, you can also set it up to exclude certain contacts from their view.
When a contact segment is applied to a site user record, instant registration notifications will only be sent to administrators who have the notification enabled, and only for registrations that align with the filtered contact results. For example, if a branch contact segmentation filter is in place and the branch is a field on the registration form, notifications will be dispatched only to those admins whose segments match the selected branch. This ensures that administrators receive registration notifications that are relevant to their specific roles and responsibilities.

The instant Registration Email Notification contains information specific to the volunteer which generated the notification:
- Contact Name
- Contact Status
- Contact Email
- Contact Mobile Number
- Link to administrator's My Profile page to manage notification settings
Depending on your subscription level this email template may be available to customize via support. If you have any questions about your subscription level, please live chat with us now from your VolunteerMatters portal or submit a support ticket via email.
The Instant Registration Text/SMS Notification message is much more concise but provides a link to the contact detail page for the new registrant (which does require the administrator to login).
