Double the Donation helps nonprofit organizations maximize the impact of their volunteer programs by tapping into corporate volunteer incentive programs available through their supporters’ employers.
Corporate volunteer incentive programs often provide employees with dedicated paid volunteer time off (VTO) and access to volunteer grant programs, in which employers will donate to organizations that their employees volunteer with, often at an hourly rate. Although many companies now offer volunteer incentive programs, nonprofits and volunteers alike may not be aware of volunteers’ eligibility.
The Double the Donation and VolunteerMatters integration enables organizations to drill down on available corporate volunteer incentives, educate supporters’ on their eligibility, and harness these programs to drive more impact from volunteering.
The Double the Donation and VolunteerMatters integration adds a company search, or information portlet, to your VolunteerMatters registration form, Volunteer Dashboard, and your My Profile pages that determine if a supporter’s employer offers volunteer incentives (using the built-in contact Organization field in your VolunteerMatters forms). This solution then provides qualifying volunteers with actionable next steps, making it easy for volunteers to kick off the process of claiming volunteer grants and using volunteer time off.
When enabled, if a volunteer has a company selected in the Organization field, the Employer Volunteer Incentives Info will be accessible on the volunteer’s dashboard page, assignment detail page, and their My Profile page.
When nonprofits use 360MatchPro Volunteer Hub by Double the Donation, they will have a centralized platform for managing opportunities, identifying volunteer incentives, and tracking volunteer-related engagement data.
This solution will walk you through setting up your VolunteerMatters system to integrate with your Double the Donation account.
Considerations
While VolunteerMatters supports Double the Donation's 360MatchPro integration, each customer must contract independently with Double the Donation for use of the matching gift platform, which is a paid service.
Double the Donation offers two price plans, Standard and Enterprise, and includes individual transaction tracking, automated gift-matching reminders for donors and ample reporting.
For all questions about these platforms, existing customers can contact their support team directly. If you do not currently use Double the Donation and are interested in this integration, please refer to the Double the Donation website and/or submit a demo request form. Please be sure to mention you use VolunteerMatters.
Enabling Double the Donation integration
To add Double the Donation’s 360MatchPro integration to your VolunteerMatters system, do the following.
- Log into your VolunteerMatters system with the "Configuration" security access role and then click on "Configuration" in the menu and then click on "Integrations" when the menu expands, then click on the "Double the Donation" link under "Integrations".
- This will open up the Double the Donation Integrations page. To enable the integration, click the "Edit" button () under the Double the Donation Settings box.
- This will open the Double the Donation Settings where an administrator will toggle the "Enabled" switch to begin utilizing the integration as well as enter the 360MatchPro Public and Private API Keys from your Double the Donation account. Both of these API keys can be found by logging in to your 360MatchPro portal, navigating to "Settings" and then "API Keys." Learn more about finding these API keys.
Once the settings are configured, click the "Verify and Save" button ().
- This will return you to the Double the Donation Integrations page with a confirmation message that the integration was enabled.
It is now ready for volunteers to utilize the VolunteerMatters contact Organization field to search for their company and save it to their record.
Is my Organization field ready to use in my VolunteerMatters system?
Many systems will have this field in use already in their VolunteerMatters instance. If you are not currently using the built-in contact Organization field in VolunteerMatters, you can follow this Customize Views solution to add the field to the various pages in VolunteerMatters. This includes the Registration Form, Contact Detail page, My Profile page, etc..
If you need assistance with this process, please live chat with us now from your VolunteerMatters portal or submit a support ticket via email.
Notes
-
Once enabled, not only will the Organization field display the Double the Donation integration information, but a Double the Donation Info Alert module with Employer Volunteer Incentives will be displayed on the Volunteer Dashboard, My Profile, and Assignment Detail pages.
If the volunteer has a company configured in the organization field, once they click the "More Info" button, it will display the Employer Volunteer Incentives popup with information specific to that company.
If a volunteer does not have a company configured, it will still display the alert, but when the volunteer clicks on the "More Info" button, they will be able to search for a company for the Double the Donation information via the Employer Volunteer Incentives popup.
- When a volunteer registers in the system and looks up and has selected a company from the Organization field, it will create a registration record in your Double the Donation 360MatchPro account within the Volunteer Hub. Additional registration records will also be created every time a volunteer self-signs up for a project need. This will make sure that users who have already registered in your VolunteerMatters system prior to the integration being enabled, will have a registration record created with or without a company selected.
If a record is created from a self-sign up, it will include the need start date and need name in the Record as the "Event Date" and "Campaign" information on the registration record.
